Small Project Bag

I finally got to make myself a proper crochet project bag for the train. It’s been on my to do list for ages! I picked an online tutorial as my base, find it here.

I’ve been hoarding this owl fabric for a couple of years, just waiting for the perfect project!! Well it took a little longer to hunt it down than I thought it would!! (Note to self, shop in stash more often!!) I paired it with some linen looking cotton and organic bod basics from birch.

The tutorial was meant for a lunch bag but I thought it also perfect for a project bag. When I started making it I thought it may be a little small for fitting a yarn cake and the growing project inside. But was pleasantly surprised at how roomy it ended up being.

Easy access to the yarn was a must. On the train you can be chasing balls of yarn all of the place, and when you need to reach around peoples feet to get to it, its not a good moment!! So I wanted a small project bag that could sit next to me and the window and the yarn will easily unwind without going everywhere. I have recently found that winding my yarn into cakes is a train must!!

See, lots of room for a hook and essentials – this is a one project at a time bag!!

I already know of a few things I will change with the bag when I make it next – yes there will be a next, I don’t just have one project on the go!! When I’ve refined it I’ll make some for our shop.
